Hot Momma

New Pieces at Mommalicious, 310 North Queen, Lancaster.
Alicia picked some beauties for the shop. Look for them First Friday, if you can get in the door!
It's been hot hot hot here in Pennsylvania. I am cleaning my studio space, and getting ready to felt and sew like crazy.
(That Mommalicious, even the back room is eye candy!)

Getting Ready for First Friday

Downtown Lancaster is hopping in preparation for First Friday tonight.
Mimi and I popped on our sandals and headed downtown to drop off these felt flower hair clips I made from Wensleydale wool.
Mommalicious and My Aunt Debbie, as well as Alicia above, looked fresher than ever.
A little assortment of my big brooches. Pick one up before they disappear...:)
I am all about bicycle tweed rides this past month, and couldn't resist this little brown plaid bow tie. I'll use the vintage clasp on a Most Dapper Gent bow tie that I'm making for a prize for a tweed ride in Minnesota, come autumn. And then I'll save this little number and wear it myself sometime, probably in my hair.
Off to tidy the front porch, and get some accessory making done. Have fun downtown. XX

Emergency Shop Stop

Just in from the My Aunt Debbie and Mommalicious shop...where we dropped off some colorful Wensleydale headbands (requested by a shopper today- thank you!) and some french inspired felt rings and barrettes from Mimi's line.

The shop windows look fantastic! Debbie's is ablaze with antler decor from Call Me Squirrel (found by Squirrel in the woods with his dog).

We are on crazy time now...this week was nuts. I had a horrendous case of Strep early in the week, which was followed by the important holiday activities one would expect a week before Christmas. Super Mom managed a holiday open house with both kids...

the school Christmas concert with a wiggling Mimi...

mailing Christmas cards, finishing a blankie and two Christmas crowns for the kids, a little bit of shopping, you know...etc.

anyway...back at the shop- check out the Call Me Squirrel cuties...

(even better at night.)

Alicia's Mommalicious window is a frosted vintage holiday wonderland.

Here's us...me in new glasses- half hour old. purple and lime "Hepburn" they say. Mimi..."behind" the scenes, we're at the register! working the counter. Like Big Shots.

and here's what we dropped off...

We took a spin around the shop and checked out all the festiveness...

Mimi wondering when she can wear larger vintage items. First it was these shoes.

(above) she was eyeing these tweedy hats. (Tweed girl, of course she was.)

Alicia and her little vignettes= FAB..

I hope you have a good weekend. I hope I can clean up my house! Might need a little Christmas miracle!!! XXX

Shop Pics for Your Personal Enjoyment.

I'm in an annoyed fog today. It has to do with Max's school, there was lack of communication about his therapy. I realized it in one shocking feeling, and had to drop everything and get to the bottom of it before 9:15 this morning- before his dear 2nd day of Kindergarten progressed further. My first parental involvement at public school experience.
So when crisis was averted, I popped into the shop to take down my summer window display. I am the weekly bookkeeper for the vendors who sell at the My Aunt Debbie Shop. Each week I pick up my work, but today, I also needed to dismantle the window.
I sit now, with Mimi asleep on the My Brestfriend nursing pillow on my lap, organic dairy free (not too tasty) noodles on the floor, and a package on the table that needs sending-that I wrapped up with 29 yards of clear dollar store tape in my frustration.
Here are pics from My Aunt Debbie and Mommalicious (they reside together at 310 North Queen in Lancaster.)
Enjoy them, while I hope to stand up, carry Mimi to her crib, wipe up the floor, and wonder where my amazement from yesterday went....

Antler home accessories from Call Me Squirrel. A dog helps find these on hikes...with a guy named Squirrel. I've talked about them before - they are very cool.

bag by J. Almodovar.

sketches by Oh Talking Bird...

Spacey orbs by Debbie Serdy.

my dress is out of the window, going on the racks today...

headbands by Peachy Tuesday...

birdie bag from Blue Q.

That's all. Onto a better day.

Good Chi for Me and a Couple of Hot Shops

We'd like to officially announce that our feng shui has been improved. In a matter of an hour or two, we removed 59 years of grime and moss from the front of our little house. I powerwashed the stone front with my neighbor Joe- King of Power Tools. (Neighbor of the Year Joe- he plows our driveway and several other neighbors, with his snow blower and casually mows our yard too, with his riding lawn mower!).
Our House is Clean!!! (I've also removed some overgrown shrubs that were dying in the front, and I've planted assorted wildflowers- cast your vote on if they'll take!)

and I made new pieces for Mimi's Sweet Mimi French line.
Here's the new Mimi action...

they were delivered to the My Aunt Debbie shop today..

while I was there...I just HAD to take a few pics...good arty/mental stimulation for a mom at home artist.
Blue Flower Necklace by A Little Sparkle and Crystal Pendants by Norma Kooi on the My Aunt Debbie side of the shop. Kerry of A Little Sparkle is a wonderful local jewelry artist who is always so nice to talk to at local events. and I am always drawn to Norma's bright whimsical pieces. she likes color, like me.

I checked out Alicia's Mommalicious magic...

i think i need more soap. yesterday I took 2 showers and a bath! (and due to the power of the powerwasher- I also took 3 Tylenol.)

I'll leave you with the hat collection.

Mimi is licking a lollipop as I write this. I think it's in her hair.
Hope you're staying cool! XO
