Happy Earth Day!

My family was visiting this weekend. Yesterday, we celebrated the sunny weather. Matt helped clean a local park ravaged from flooding, and my nieces modeled pieces of my new line for IZZY LANE in the afternoon. It was really a spur of the moment idea, with me throwing Hunter wellies, Izzy Lane tweed coat and Wensleydale Izzy Lane scarf, a container of my pieces, and camera into my LL BEAN tote bag- before getting into the car to go to my Mom and Dad's house. With sweeping views of Lancaster County farmland, here's a peek at the Autumn Collection...
Created from the offcuts of Izzy Lane garments (literally the remnants that fall to the cutting room floor when the tailor makes his cuts for Izzy Lane skirts, jackets, and coats), these accessories help to reduce waste from garment production.
A huge fan of Izzy Lane since 2009, I am so excited to create these special accessories. For me, I imagine them being worn everyday, with your jeans (like Abby here), to school, the office. It's a way to wear Ethical British wool Everyday!
From Izzylane.com: "Izzy Lane is a cutting edge and unique ethical luxury brand and has in its short existence, since 2007, established its credentials as one of the leading ethical brands in the world and the leading voice of animal welfare in the fashion industry as well as being a leading voice for the use of British wool and the British Textile Industry. At its core are the 600 rare breed sheep that have been rescued. Our flock of Wensleydale and Shetland sheep comprises mainly of animals that would have been sent to slaughter for being male, missing a pregnancy, being a little lame, being too small, being too old or having imperfections such as a black spot in a white fleece. We pay equal and better prices to save them. These sheep will live out their whole natural lives in our sheep sanctuary in North Yorkshire and their wool is used in our knitwear and wovens."
Select maggie french for Izzy Lane pieces for now are available on my Etsy website. Look for my maggie french for IZZY LANE online store, coming soon.
I hope that this Earth Day your "Green Dreams" come true too.
