Happy 8th Grade Graduation Abby!

I gave my sweet niece Abby a little package of hair barrettes for her 8th grade graduation today. Last night she sent me these sweet photos. Have a great night Abs! I'm so proud of you!

UPDATE: right after graduation, Abby went to Alaska with about 20 of her classmates! how cool is that?!!! she got to see where her mom, uncle, me, and her Grandma and Pop lived for a while, 33 years ago!

Playgrounds of Pennsylvania

my back labels are looking a bit better, but Adrian of Friedokra.etsy.com gave me some great tips which I need to put into action. (somehow I threw all away all my embroidery floss by accident...this is what happens when you clean up your craft area at 2:30am!)

this summer I feel like we are checking out all the children's playgrounds of Pennsylvania. with the GPS we found a really cool one, donated by Playworld of Lewisburg, IN Lewisburg...it's like a showcase for their best stuff. This playground above was last weekend in Windber, PA. I remember visiting Pennsylvania as a child(coming from Massachusetts) and I thought everything was so "lush!"

POURING rain today. We are off to Central Market to buy fruit and coffee and vegetables.

Aunt Kathy's cool garden...

I've always loved visiting my Aunt Kathy's house. she has the most fantastic gardens. the house has been in the family for some time, with my Grandfather having lived on the property as well.
they recently had a visit from a bear! the house is near Johnstown, PA. We had a lovely visit there yesterday as we began our summer holidays:-), and visited our family.

this a wonderful little summer gazebo with a summer oven, and lots of nooks and crannies.

since I've bought my own home, I always leave my visit there dreaming of lawn decorations, planters and wind chimes!

in lieu of a dinner out, we decided to have an impromptu dinner out here. my Aunt and Uncle are wonderful hosts, and got out the cocktails.

Max ran around the property, pretending to search for the bear. he found wonderful paths and bridges I had forgotten about.

every Pennsylvania garden needs a deer!
